HP is pleased to announce the 4th annual HP Software & Solutions Awards of Excellence for the Americas region. The 2009 awards honor customers using HP Software & Solutions in effective and innovative ways to deliver business value. Award coverage
We will consider accomplishments in four key areas addressed by HP Software & Solutions offerings:
Business technology optimization (BTO)
To be eligible for an award, a project in this category will demonstrate how an IT organization has used HP BTO solutions to achieve outstanding business outcomes through IT strategy, applications, or operations.
Information management (IM)
Customers who can demonstrate how HP information management enabled them to harness information faster through business continuity, governance and e-discovery, and document workflow transformation solutions by creating, capturing, classifying, accessing, discovering, analyzing, retrieving, recovering, and delivering information faster.
Business information solutions (BIS)
Exceptional achievement in using HP solutions to deliver the right information to the right people for sound decision-making also qualifies for consideration.
Communications & media solutions (CMS)
We also consider submissions from businesses in the communications or media industry who have achieved competitive advantage by lowering costs, improving delivery time, or reducing subscriber churn through the use of HP solutions to consolidate networks and platforms, converge network types or infrastructure elements, or innovate loyalty-winning end-user experiences.

HP Awards of Excellence offer you the opportunity to be recognized for your accomplishments within your own organization, with your business leaders, and among your industry peers.
Selected honorees will receive:

How are winners selected?
An independent panel of judges will evaluate submissions based on the following criteria:
- Measurable improvement in business outcomes delivered through IT/business alignment. Improved outcomes might include but not be limited to increased customer satisfaction, better application quality, expanded market share, regulatory compliance, lower cost of operations, or faster delivery of revenue-generating services.
- Demonstrated use of best practices.
- Creative application of people, processes, and technology to ensure successful project outcome.
- Lessons learned that can be shared with other HP customers.
We will also give consideration to project scale, heterogeneity of the IT/telephony environment, depth and breadth of HP solutions, and integration of functions and tools, including third-party technologies.

Increase your chances of winning
Your submission should document and demonstrate measurable improvement in business and IT/solution performance. We recommend that you gather input from both business and IT/solution stakeholders and provide specific and detailed answers to all questions rather than a general summary in the project submission.
